Microsoft Access Databases Online

Welcome to RPT Software - Microsoft Access Cloud
If you are looking for help on how to get your Microsoft Access database working in more of a web based or cloud based methodology you have come to the right place. This website is geared to help answer questions about the various methods to transform a Microsoft Access database to the web. Of course we hope that you will choose RPT Software to be your Access consulting company to help you make this journey. Let's jump in and look at problems organizations face and the solutions that can work to solve these problems:

Some general problems with Microsoft Access (that many users face):
- Access works great if all user's are in a local office (LAN situation) however more and more organizations have workforces that work remotely.
- Access databases require Microsoft access or the Microsoft access runtime to be installed and sometimes the user does not want a version of Microsoft access installed at all or worries about having different versions of Office on the same computer.

Possible approaches to take
Thin client approaches (user uses a pc, mac, ipad or other device and does not need Microsoft Access):
- Use an access database on our microsoft access cloud servers
- Use Access Services and Sharepoint to host a web based solution
- Use a remote control solution
- Rewrite the Access database as a typical web application (example: using asp.net or php)

Thick client approaches (requires user to have Microsoft Access or Microsoft Access Runtime installed on their pc):
- use an access database with a sql server back-end database
- use an access database with a sharepoint back-end database

Thin client approach (using our Microsoft Access Cloud servers to host your database)

How it works
- RPT Software reviews your database to see if it will work on our Microsoft Access Cloud servers
- We get it working on our Cloud Servers and you and your team access the database by using remote desktop on your pc, mac, ipad or other devices
- You pay for monthly hosting (see our fees page for more info)

Thin client approach (using Access Services and Sharepoint to create a web-based application)

- RPT Software reviews your database to see if this is a good fit
- We create an Access 2010 Web database that can published to Office 365 or Accesshosting.com Sharepoint servers

Thin client approach (using a remote control solution)

- RPT Software reviews your database to see if this is a good fit
- This is when you have a very small remote workforce and they basically just remotely control an office computer that has the access database installed. - You pay fees for your remote control solution (log me in, etc...)

Thin client approach (rewriting the Access database as a typical asp.net or php web application)

- RPT Software reviews your database to see if this is a good fit
- We work to create a web application that does similar functionality as your existing web application
- You need to pay for web hosting and probably SQl Server hosting (see our fees page for more info)

Thick client approach (using an Access database front-end with a SQL Server back-end database)

- RPT Software reviews your database to see if this is a good fit
- we work to convert the database so it uses a sql server back-end
- You need to pay for sql server hosting (or have sql server available in house)

Thick client approach (using an Access database front-end with a Sharepoint back-end database)

- RPT Software reviews your database to see if this is a good fit
- we work to convert the database so it uses a Sharepoint back-end database
